20 Years of Tutoring Program at Técnico!

Twenty years ago, Instituto Superior Técnico innovated by creating the Tutoring Program as a measure to combat academic failure and facilitate students’ transition to higher education. Since then, tutoring has played a crucial role in promoting integration and academic success, as well as preventing dropout rates.

In this context, it becomes increasingly necessary and relevant to promote spaces for reflection and sharing about the potential, limitations, and best practices within the field of tutoring, so that we can continue to create and adapt these programs to the needs of Higher Education Institutions.

The celebration event for the 20 years of the Tutoring Program, organized by the Academic Development Unit, is scheduled for October 27th. The goal of this event is to provide an opportunity for reflection and institutional exchange among professionals from across the country who recognize the importance of tutoring programs in Higher Education Institutions. It will be a space for sharing best practices and personal experiences with tutoring. Additionally, we will have a forward-looking perspective, as we also intend to reflect on how new artificial intelligence tools can contribute to enhancing the relationships between tutors and tutees.
